In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Features

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana together with multiple objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally included a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
